Jay Kyo Iu Kuay Yaowarat
In the market near to Wat Mangkon Kamalawat, you may get Iu kuay, a 130-year-old traditional dessert. It’s a Chinese dish with a long history. This shop’s Kanom Iu Kuay is a Yaowarat legend, more than 130 years old, with a 3rd generation successor. For the past 34 years, the present owner has been selling. Shantou, China, is the source of this dessert recipe.
Every day, the shop’s Iu Kuay is freshly prepared. Because it is a historic recipe that has been passed down for over 130 years, the flour at the shop is created with 80 percent sweet potato and 20 percent flour. The restaurant’s Iu Kuay is tasty and unique because they use a lot of sweet potatoes, and the flour in the shop must be kneaded by hand since we use a lot of sweet potatoes that the machine can’t massage. Another crucial consideration is the cooking oil. Clean, fresh oil is required.
The company selects old sweet potatoes that are expensive for the greatest quality, so that when consumers eat them, they will experience a natural sweet potato flavour.
There are six different filling options to pick from. “Cabbage Fillings” cost 35 baht each, “Bamboo Shoots Fillings” cost 40 baht each, “Taro Fillings” cost 30 baht each, “Soybeans Fillings” cost 30 baht each, “Salted Peanuts” cost 30 baht each, and “Coconut Fillings” cost 30 baht each.
